Sheffield is known for its industrial history and easy access to the countryside. The city grew around the steel industry, and many of the older terraces and stone-built houses still reflect that heritage. Sheffield is also famous for its music scene, producing bands such as Arctic Monkeys and Pulp, and for being close to the Peak District National Park, which is why it’s often called “The Outdoor City”.
Different neighbourhoods attract different buyers. Areas such as Crookes, Broomhill and the Ecclesall Road corridor are popular with students and young professionals because they sit close to the universities. Kelham Island and the city centre have seen significant regeneration, with modern apartment developments attracting professionals and investors. Further out, suburbs such as Fulwood, Ecclesall, Dore and Totley offer larger family homes and quieter residential streets.
